Starting a Distribution Hub
Bring Affordable Fruit & Veg to Your Neighbourhood
Run a weekly pick-up point, strengthen community ties, and help families eat well for less.
Why set up a Distribution Hub?
Immediate impact – one hub can supply local households with fresh, low-cost produce every week. Plus, you’ll help foster a sense of connection and belonging around shared kai.
Low barrier to entry – minimal equipment, two hours on pack day, and a small volunteer crew. You’ll also need a car or van to transport the bags — your Packing Hub will advise on load sizes.
Full backing – Hauora Kai handles bulk buying, recipes, and health resources; you focus on local pick-ups.
How it works (in three simple steps)
Confirm orders
Collect orders and payments from your members; report totals to your Packing Hub. If your Co-op uses CoShop, members place and pay for their orders online, so you won’t need to handle payments or maintain a cash log.Collect packs
Pick up pre-packed bags from the Packing Hub and bring them to your venue.Distribute (same day)
Volunteers hand out bags, take new orders, and enjoy the buzz.
What you’ll need

Order & cash log
